Liquid Layers (2015/17). Two-channel projection, 7:47 min
The two-channel projection makes use of video material shot in the Amazon region. Playing with the media-specific elements of the (moving) image, sound and the temporal aspects of actual and virtual movement, the work conveys some idea of experiencing nature in an immense water district far away from any industrialized context. The invisible, the silence become main subjects of interest in a day-to-day life shaped by the omnipresent element. Giving shelter to animals unlikely to encounter, water also serves as a means of transport decelerating and alterning our perception of the environment.
